Because of their preference for a shallow coral reef habitat, their appetite for fresh fish, and their bold disposition, the Caribbean Reef Sharks come into frequent conflict with spear-fishermen and cause a number of serious injuries each year. This specimen was near the south coast of New Providence Island of the Bahamas.
