One of the most interesting sea creatures to me is the chambered nautilus. Its method of locomotion, its appearance, and its unique visage seems to distinguish it as one of the most unusual creatures of Nature. A member of the mollusk family, the Nautilus typically lives in deep water habitats. In this photograph I wanted to depict the nautilus in its natural environment--within the dark blue depths of the sea.
This pair was photographed off the coast of Papua New Guinea.
